Women have been forever expected to have discretionary items on-hand for their monthly visit from Aunt Flow. Brown University has stepped-up and mandated that all bathrooms, men and women, have tampons and pads available. This is remarkable but it’s even more remarkable that the mention of such items in the men’s room are there for transgender folks. Was that really necessary? What if a non transgender guy is just being polite to his lady friend? Nothing says ‘I care’ like a guy giving a girl a tampon. That’s sarcasm. Would that comment get me killed in North Korea?
