Clik here to view.A new report shows that highly aggressive prostate cancer is on the rise. PSA, a test used to detect prostate cancer, was deemed inaccurate and a poor way to track prostate cancer by a federal panel. Riddle me this Batman: if that’s true, then why has there been a 72% rise in cases of deadly prostate cancer in the last 10-years? Perhaps the new parameters to lower the cost of health insurance, as per the Affordable Care Act, have inadvertently resulted in an increase in deadly prostate cancer. An annual mammography is better able to track the appearance and development of breast cancer. This seems logical for men and the detection of prostate cancer. The comment from a prostate cancer survivor and founder of Pints for Prostates says it all! To summarize, prostate cancer survivors cannot speak loudly enough about the importance of proactive screening.
