We all need to sleep. How much sleep we get varies greatly depending on age and gender. Stress and lifestyle choices have a lot to do with that, as well. On average, most of us regardless of age, gender, and nationality get between seven and eight hours of shut eye. Younger people are impervious to cues from the sun, but elderly seem to set their biological clocks by it. Women sleep a hair longer than men, these minutes are racked-up by turning in earlier and sleeping a little later. If counterproductive worries about obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome have you loosing sleep – there’s an app for that.
