Being healthy is always a good thing for people of all ages but being a healthy middle-age man means a 33% lower risk of death from lung cancer and colorectal cancer. The 33% reduced-risk kicks-in at age 65. Men who had a superb cardiovascular fitness in their 40s performed like track stars on the treadmill endurance tests. The cancer-lowering benefit wasn’t seen in prostate cancer. Researchers believe that elevated risk is because athletes are more likely to see a doctor for preventative tests like prostate cancer. Underscoring the importance of cardiovascular fitness, the experts agree physical fitness is king when it comes to heart health. Now the benefits are documented in lung cancer and colorectal cancer death rates. Would you share this news with a middle-age man who would benefit from it? Tweet me @AlliesVoice.
